Create your academy and finish the setup wizard

Sign up, then walk through the setup wizard: name and country, first center, first batch, a coach invite, a lesson package and a first class.

Steps

  1. On the sign-up page, titled Create your academy, enter Your name, Email and Password. The password needs at least 8 characters. Then select Create academy.

  2. After you sign up, ChessCore opens the setup wizard instead of the empty dashboard. It keeps doing this until setup is finished.

  3. On Name your academy, type the Academy name (at least 2 characters) and choose your Country. ChessCore suggests a Currency and Time zone from the country. Change either one if yours is different.

  4. Select Continue. Check the details in Confirm your academy region, then select Confirm and continue, or Go back and edit to change them.

  5. On Add your first center, enter a Center name and pick a Mode: In-person, Online or Hybrid. In-person and hybrid centers also need an Address. Select Add center.

  6. On Create your first batch, enter a Batch name, choose its Center and select Add batch. A batch is a class group your students enroll into.

  7. On Invite a coach, enter a Coach email and select Send invite. You can send up to three invites here. Each invite shows a link with a Copy button, and you can also use Share on WhatsApp. Invited coaches join with the Coach role.

  8. On Create your first lesson package, enter a Package name, the number of Lessons (a whole number from 1 to 1000) and the Price. Select Add package.

  9. On Schedule your first class, pick a Coach, or choose I’ll teach this class to teach it yourself. Add a Title, set Starts and Ends, and select Schedule class. Times are in your academy’s time zone.

  10. On You’re all set, select Go to dashboard. If no payment account is connected yet, you also see Collect fees online with a Finish and connect payments button.

Good to know

  • Your country and currency can’t be changed after you confirm them. If you picked the wrong country, contact support.
  • The coach, lesson package and first class steps are optional. Select Skip for now, choose a reason under Why are you skipping this step?, then select Continue.
  • On the coach step, Continue only works after you send at least one invite. To move on without inviting anyone, use Skip for now.
  • If the class time clashes with the coach’s calendar, ChessCore shows the conflict. You can change the time or select Schedule anyway.
  • After setup is finished, opening /onboarding on your ChessCore address shows Your setup, with each step marked Completed, Skipped or Not done yet. Only the academy name can be edited there. If steps are left, select Resume setup.
  • Only people who can change academy settings are sent to the wizard. Coaches and other staff of a new academy go straight to their own dashboard.
  • If the sign-up page says ChessCore is invite-only right now, ask your academy for an invite link or use the request access link to set up your academy.
