A Chessverse alternative you can test on one batch first

This page is about the work of moving an academy from Chessverse to ChessCore: what carries over, what you set up again and how to test the move without risking a term. For a feature-by-feature view of the two products, read ChessCore vs Chessverse. To compare the AI in both products, bring one game and one parent update. Your coach selects the game for analysis and reviews AI-written report text before sending it. Test those steps before moving your other batches.

ChessCore publishes this page and sells academy software, so weigh it accordingly. We are not affiliated with Chessverse. Chessverse details come from chessverse.in, as read on 16 October 2026. Where we recorded no claim, we write โ€œnot recordedโ€, not โ€œmissingโ€.

The switch

What changes when you switch

Chessverse lists white-labeling, live virtual classes, puzzles, mini-games, class scheduling, attendance tracking and integrated payment processing. It prices per student per month, with plans for up to 20, 50, 100 and 500 students, custom Enterprise pricing and a 14-day free trial, as read on its homepage on 16 October 2026. Compare the setup and approval steps for your own weekly work. Four things change:

  • Pricing shape. ChessCore sells flat capacity tiers by student count, not a fee per student. Read ChessCore pricing and price your own roster against both.

  • Apps. Chessverse lists branded apps as part of its white-labeling. ChessCore parent and student portals install from a browser as web apps. Complete white label remains in development for chains on the Grow plan and up, with ChessCore branding retained. Custom domains remain partially implemented for chains on the Grow plan and up, with assisted setup.

  • Classroom. ChessCore classes have a shared board, with built-in video and audio; screen sharing is planned. A coach can also paste a Zoom or Google Meet link on a class.

  • AI workflow and limits, checked 16 October 2026. Chessverse describes ReflexBuilder as turning mistakes in recent games into practice puzzles, and lists automated parent reports by WhatsApp or email. Its homepage does not specify model identities, approval steps or failure recovery. In ChessCore, a coach selects games for analysis; Stockfish evaluates them and AI drafts explanations. Parent-message and report drafts wait for a person. Automatic monthly emails use counts and ratings in a fixed template, without engine analysis or AI narration. Class summaries are coach-published by default, with optional auto-publish. Ask to see these distinct workflows before switching.

Decide in 60 seconds

Is a move worth testing now?

Answer each question. Every answer carries what this page already says about the move.

How should the academy be priced?
What about existing payment mandates?
What must the families and coaches get?

Your fit

Pick one answer in each row.

  • ChessCore0 of 3
  • Chessverse0 of 3

The picker only lines up this pageโ€™s own fit notes against your answers. It is not a test of either product: run one batch in a trial before you decide.

ChessCore, differently

Bring your roster across without retyping it

ChessCore has a self-service CSV import for students. You upload a file, map your columns, review a preview that flags bad rows and duplicate names, then commit. The commit runs as one step, so a bad row does not leave half a roster behind, and an import can be undone for 24 hours. The student file reads these fields: student name, guardian name, guardian email, guardian phone, batch name and date of birth. The product also has importers for other record types, such as guardians and batches. Ask which ones apply to your academy when you request a demo.

Two other things carry over without any file from Chessverse. Students can connect their own Lichess and Chess.com accounts. Automatic sync of those games starts on the Pro plan and up (see plan limits); on any plan a coach can upload a PGN file of up to 200 games for a student instead. And the roster you already keep, in whatever form, can be turned into the CSV above.

The preview below is an invented demonstration for Knightโ€™s Gate, a made-up academy, not an export from Chessverse. It first shows a file that cannot be saved: one invalid email and one repeated name that the importer flags for a person to check, never merges. The next state shows the corrected file with every row ready, and only then the saved import and its 24-hour undo.

Whether you can get a clean roster out of Chessverse is a question for Chessverse. We recorded no claim about a data export as read on 16 October 2026. Ask for your student, guardian and batch records in writing before you decide.

By hand

What needs manual setup

ChessCore has no connector that reads from a Chessverse account, so nothing moves across by itself. We have not tested a Chessverse export against the importer, and this page does not promise one works. The student import carries the roster only. Plan to set the rest up by hand, or with the ChessCore team during onboarding:

  • Class history and attendance. The student import has no attendance columns, so past attendance starts empty unless you enter it.
  • Fee history and open balances. Re-create each familyโ€™s plan and enter any balance carried over, so the first invoice is right. See fee collection and the family ledger.
  • Practice progress. Puzzle and mini-game progress stays in Chessverse. Students start a new queue in ChessCore.
  • Branding, domain and parent contact consent. Add your logo and domain again, and confirm guardian contact details before any reminder is switched on.
  • Payment mandates. Ask your payment provider and Chessverse whether existing mandates can continue under the new setup. Until then, keep the old collection running.
  • Other tools. See what connects in integrations.

Razorpayโ€™s subscription documentation, read on 16 October 2026, describes mandates as created inside the merchantโ€™s own account and describes no transfer to another account. So ask whether the academy owns the payment account, and do not ask families for duplicate mandates until that is settled.

One batch first

A safe evaluation plan

Keep Chessverse running while you test. Pick one batch, not the whole academy. As an example, Knightโ€™s Gate, a made-up academy with 42 students in three batches, would start with Beginners A and leave Intermediate B and the Tournament squad where they are.

Bring your list to a demo and ask us to go through it. For a feature view while you decide, read the head-to-head comparison of features and cost and review Chessverse before deciding to leave, and for the wider field see the shortlist of academy software.

  1. List the records and workflows you need to keep. Mark each as must-have or nice-to-have.
  2. Ask Chessverse in writing what you can export and in which format.
  3. Import that one batch from a CSV and check the preview against your own list.
  4. Run a real week with one system as the live billing and reminder owner: attendance, one class change, one fee reminder, one parent update.
  5. Compare the first fee cycle against your own records before moving any other batch. Keep the old collection path until that cycle is checked.
  6. Decide with the batch results in front of you, then move the rest in stages.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I export my academy data from Chessverse?

We did not record any Chessverse claim about data export as read on 16 October 2026, so we cannot say what it offers. Ask them directly, in writing, what they can give you and in which format before you plan the move.

Do I have to stop using Chessverse before I try ChessCore?

No. Run one batch in ChessCore while the rest stay where they are. Switch the remaining batches only after that batch has been through a full fee cycle.
