Manage your child’s permissions, privacy and message preferences
Turn class information, class emails and recordings on or off for each child, and choose how and when the academy contacts you.
Steps
Open Settings.
Under Your child’s permissions, each child has rows such as Class information for [name] and Class emails about [name], each with a button to turn it off or on. Class recordings for [name] appears when recordings are on or your academy asks for recording consent.
When you turn something off, the page asks Turn this off? and explains what happens. Select Yes, turn it off or Keep it on.
In Message preferences, choose a Preferred channel, set Quiet hours with a From and Until time and pick a Language. Then select Save preferences.
In the same panel, each message type has its own Stop button. It takes effect straight away, and you can turn it back on the same way.
In WhatsApp messages, switch each purpose on or off, such as Class reminders, Fee reminders, Payment receipts or Class recaps.
Use the Progress updates switch to start or stop the weekly progress digest.
In My details, update your Full name, Email, Phone, Preferred contact and the optional Preferred city, then select Save.
Good to know
- Turning off class information tells the academy and closes that child’s portal until you agree again. The academy may keep some records the law requires, and security logs for about one year.
- Students under 18, or whose age is not recorded, can use the student portal only after a linked guardian agrees to class information. If class information is turned off, the student sees Your portal is paused.
- If another guardian turned off class information, only that guardian can turn it back on, from their own parent portal.
- Some messages cannot be turned off: safety notices, sign-in emails, payment problems and changes to a booked class.
- To use SMS or WhatsApp, add a phone number in My details. If a number replied STOP on WhatsApp, turning a purpose back on does not lift that. Ask the academy to clear it first.
- If the academy sends you a document to sign, it appears on Home under Documents to sign. Select Read and sign.
