Accept your family invitation and join the parent portal

Use the invitation link from your academy to create your parent account, check your children and agree to the terms.

Steps

  1. Open the invitation link your academy sent you. The page is labelled Family invitation and greets you with Welcome, [your first name].

  2. Check the list under Children on this invite. If these are not your children, stop and tell your academy.

  3. Your email is already filled in and cannot be changed, because the invitation is for that address. To use another email, select Use a different email? and ask your academy to send a new invite to that address.

  4. If you are new, enter Your name and a Password of at least 8 characters. If you already have an account, select Already have an account? Sign in and enter your password.

  5. Review Permissions for [your children]. Learning records, Class updates and Chess account linking are covered by the agreement. News and offers is optional and stays off unless you tick it. If your academy records classes, you also see Class video recording, which stays off unless you turn it on.

  6. Tick I agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Notice. You cannot continue without it.

  7. Select Create account and join. If you are signing in to an existing account the button reads Sign in to accept, and if you are already signed in it reads Accept and open portal. You can also use Continue with Google when it is shown.

Good to know

  • If you try to create an account with an email that already has one, the page shows You already have an account and asks you to sign in with your password to accept the invite.
  • If you are signed in with a different email, the page says the invite is for a different email address. Select Use the invited account to sign out and switch.
  • If you have already joined, the page shows You have already joined and an Open portal button.
  • After too many attempts the page asks you to wait and shows a countdown. Your invite is still valid, so try again when the timer ends.
  • Some academies show Before we link your child when you open the portal and your agreement is still needed. Tick the box to agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Notice, then select Agree and continue (or Agree and link [child’s name] for one child). Agreeing to class recordings on this screen is optional.
