Set the lesson and prepare for a class

Each class page shows the lesson for that session. ChessCore suggests the next topic from the programme’s syllabus, and you can keep it or set your own. The page also holds a prep note and quick notes about students.

Steps

  1. Open the class from Today or This week.

  2. The Lesson: line shows the plan for this class, with a tag: Set by coach, Suggested or Not set. Suggested means the next topic from the programme’s syllabus.

  3. Select Set lesson, or Change lesson if you already set one.

  4. Choose a Topic, a Study, or both. Topics from the programme’s syllabus are listed first. Add an optional Note for this class of up to 500 characters.

  5. Select Save lesson. To go back to the syllabus suggestion, select Use suggestion.

  6. Select the Prep button to see Latest student notes and write Today’s prep note. The note saves when you leave the box.

  7. During or after class, select Note, choose a student in Select student, write what they worked on, and select Save note.

Good to know

  • If someone else changed the lesson while you were editing, you see Someone else changed this lesson. Choose Save mine anyway or Keep their change.
  • The lesson cannot be changed for a cancelled class, and the prep and note tools are hidden.
  • If you have Copilot access, Lesson plans in the Session intelligence group lists drafted lesson plans on Pending, Approved and Rejected tabs. Use Edit, Approve and assign or Reject. Approving can create assignments for the batch’s students.
