Send parent recaps after a class

Once a class summary is published, you can prepare a recap for each student’s guardian and send it on WhatsApp or copy it. ChessCore records what you did for each family.

Steps

  1. Publish the class summary first. Until then, the Parent recap tab says to publish the summary before sending recaps.

  2. On the Parent recap tab, select Prepare parent recaps.

  3. Each student gets a row showing the guardian it goes to and a status: Not prepared, Ready to send, Copied, WhatsApp opened or Marked sent.

  4. Read the message in the row. Select Open WhatsApp to open the message in WhatsApp, or Copy message to paste it somewhere else.

  5. If a recap could not be prepared, select Retry. To write a new version of a recap you already sent or copied, select Compose again.

Good to know

  • A student is skipped when the guardian has not opted in to WhatsApp class recaps, has opted out, or has no WhatsApp number on file. The row says which.
  • The statuses show what was prepared or recorded in ChessCore. They are not a delivery receipt from WhatsApp.
  • Guardians can also see the published recap in the family portal. WhatsApp recaps reach guardians only if your academy has WhatsApp class recaps turned on.
  • The top of the review page shows a running count, such as how many recaps are marked sent.
